After a long time building and refining this for my own use, Authors Toolbox v1.0 is officially live.
Authors Toolbox is a Windows desktop app I built to help organize writing projects spread across multiple tools and file types. It does not replace writing apps. It works alongside them.
What it does
Imports existing writing projects in bulk
Works with files across Scrivener, Word, PDFs, EPUBs, and more
Keeps files exactly where they already live
Lets you see project status, progress, and structure at a glance
Focuses on organization, not writing or editing
What it does not do
It does not write for you
It does not lock you into a new format
It does not require you to rebuild your workflow
This project came out of years of struggling to keep my own writing organized while working across too many tools. I built it because I needed something that reduced friction instead of adding more setup.
v1.0 is intentionally focused. It does the one job I needed it to do and does it quietly.
I’ll continue improving it over time, but for now I wanted to mark this as the official first release.
